Jan 27th – Top rope indoor climbing
Now that we’ve experienced that falling while attached to a rope can actually be fun, we are going to do the opposite and climb while attached to a rope!
In short, top rope is a style of climbing in which the climber is attached to a rope that passes through an anchor point at the top of the climb. From there the rope goes down to a second person – the belayer – who is attached to the rope as well. That person makes sure you will not fall.
We will have an introductory class at the climbing hall near The Hague Hollands Spoor that teaches the basics of climbing, and – more importantly – belaying. Assuming we all pay attention, we can continue climbing after the lesson!
You need to bring loose fitting clothes and good sport shoes. Similar to what you would wear in other indoor sporting activities. Alternatively there is an option to rent climbing shoes there as well.

Hope to see you there!
